The Pyraminx, also known as a Magic Pyramid Cube, is a tetrahedron-shaped twisty puzzle similar to a Rubik’s Cube but with a triangular pyramid structure. It consists of four triangular faces, and each face is divided into smaller triangles.

Key Features:

Shape: It is shaped like a pyramid, making it a four-sided tetrahedron rather than a traditional cube.

Colors: Each of the four faces is typically a different color (such as red, blue, green, and yellow).

Pieces:

Corner pieces (4): Each of the four tips of the pyramid rotates independently. These pieces have only one color each.

Edge pieces (6): These pieces lie between the corners and have two colors each. They can be rotated and swapped to solve the puzzle.

Centerpieces (4): Each face has one fixed centerpiece in the middle, with three smaller triangular pieces surrounding it. These form part of the overall puzzle and need to be aligned for the solution.

Rotation:

The Pyraminx has rotating layers along its axes, and each of the four faces can rotate to scramble the puzzle.

Players manipulate the puzzle by turning the tips and layers, aiming to align the colors so that each face of the pyramid consists of a single uniform color.

Solving:

While similar in concept to a Rubik’s Cube, the Pyraminx is considered easier to solve due to fewer pieces, simpler algorithms, and the independently moving tips that provide some helpful orientation during solving.
